CLLR COMMENDS COMMERCIAL SERVICES FOR QUICK REACTION
Cllr Nigel Anderdon has praised Test Valleys Commercial Services team for their quick reaction to an issue in Nursling and Rownhams.
During the early hours of this morning (Friday 21st September) bundles of newspapers were taken from outside the shop in Nursling Street and liberally distributed across the village, by person or persons unknown.
There were hundreds of newspapers blowing around the parish thing this morning, however the Commercial Services Team were on site by 9am and soon had the problem under control.
Cllr Nigel Anderdon said:
The response from the clean up team was very quick indeed. The newspapers were spread throughout the village, with some along Romsey Road, near the motorway bridge, where they could have caused havoc if they had blown down onto the carriageway below in rush hour.
It really was a disgraceful act, not just the theft of the papers from outside the shop, but the complete disregard for the local environment when they were just scattered about.
Police are to go through the CCTV records to establish whether the culprits can be identified.
