After an exceptionally long day, at 3:45am we found out we had won with a majority of more than 4000 votes! This represents a swing of some 4.5% from the Liberal Democrats to the Conservatives.
Caroline said, "Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me and to all those people who were out there helping during the campaign. I am committed to the Romsey and Southampton North community and will do my very best to look after the interests of the people within the constituency".
As she stood in the Mountbatten Hall, she told The Romsey Advertiser: “It’s been a long five years since the 2005 election when I stood in this same hall and lost by one of the narrowest margins. I was determined then I would keep on fighting for the constituency and I think today’s result is vindication of five years hard work”.
