Landfill in Romsey Extra
Cllr Caroline Nokes attended the public exhibition outlining the details of the proposed gravel extraction and landfill at Roke.
Caroline said:
"One of the big issues concerning Romsey Extra is the problem of extraction and the landfill that almost always follows. My broad view on this is that the area has already suffered enough and I have a great deal of sympathy with the campaign that simply states "No More Landfill Around Romsey".
"Of course I welcome the fact that Halterworth has not been included in the list of preferred sites for extraction, but I am very concerned for those living in the area surrounding the Roke Manor site. The impact of these proposals could be horrendous on the residential amenity of local people. I will certainly make my view known to the County Council."
