Chilworth Councillors were celebrating today at the re-launch of the recycling facilities at the Chilworth Arms.
Situated in the car park behind the pub is a new "bring site" enabling local residents to have a convenient site to bring their newspapers, bottles and unwanted items of clothing.
Test Valley Borough Councillors for Chilworth Nursling and Rownhams, Alison Finlay, Nigel Anderdon and Phil Bundy were joined by Cllr Caroline Nokes from the Borough Council Executive, and Parish Councillors to officially open the site and cut the green ribbon.
Alison Finlay paid tribute to the hard work of the Parish Council, the management of the Chilworth Arms and Borough Council officers in ensuring that the new site was established.
Caroline Nokes said:
"Making sure that local residents have access to recycling facilities is a high priority for the Borough Council. It is only through making recycling as easy as possible, and encouraging people to use facilities such as these that we will improve our recycling figures and cut down the use of landfill locally."
